Public Relations & Communications Assistant
Help tell the GeniusXLab story — press, content, and social support for a remote IT consulting team shipping real client work.
About the role
GeniusXLab LLC is an IT consulting and digital services firm. We help enterprises and growth-stage companies with custom software, cloud infrastructure, and AI-driven solutions — operating as an embedded partner, not a distant vendor. Our team works fully remote across the U.S., Brazil, and Europe, with offices in Avalon, TX · São Paulo · Chișinău.
GeniusXLab is looking for an entry-level Public Relations & Communications Assistant to support how we show up in the market. You will work closely with leadership and our technical team to draft content, organize outreach, and keep our external messaging sharp — so engineers can stay focused on delivery.
This is a hands-on starter role for someone early in a communications or PR career who wants startup consulting experience. You will draft press releases and blog posts, help maintain media lists, support LinkedIn and social posting, monitor coverage, and turn complex topics — AI, cloud, data engineering — into language clients and journalists can understand. Strong written English, reliability, and comfort working async in a remote environment matter more than years of experience.
Core responsibilities
- Content & copy: Draft short press releases, company updates, and blog posts about projects, client wins, and new service lines.
- Media relations: Help maintain media and contact lists — journalists, bloggers, influencers, and partners — and keep records current.
- Social support: Assist with LinkedIn, X, and other social posting using content and direction from the team.
- Coverage monitoring: Track mentions of the company and key clients online; maintain simple reports of coverage and reach.
- PR materials: Support one-pagers, case-study summaries, FAQs, and boilerplate company descriptions for outreach.
- Coordination: Gather screenshots, edit drafts, organize assets in shared drives, and keep small PR tasks moving on deadline.
- Technical translation: Work with engineers and leadership to turn complex topics into clear, accurate external messaging.
What we're looking for
We look for people who write clearly, follow through on small deadlines, and are genuinely curious about technology and startups.
Technical mastery
- →Strong written English and close attention to detail.
- →Foundational exposure to PR, communications, marketing, or content creation — coursework, internships, or freelance work all count.
- →Comfort with Google Docs, Sheets, and lightweight design or collaboration tools (Canva, Notion, or similar).
- →Able to work independently remote, respond promptly to messages, and meet straightforward weekly deadlines.
- →Genuine interest in technology, startups, or IT consulting.
Professional attributes
- →Detail-oriented: you proofread, follow briefs, and catch small errors before they ship.
- →Proactive: you flag blockers early and suggest next steps instead of waiting to be chased.
- →Tech-curious: willing to learn enough about software and AI to write credibly about what we do.
- →Organized: comfortable maintaining lists, folders, and simple content calendars without heavy process.
